When spring comes around there are several important tips to help keep your vehicle in near new condition. Colorado winters can be extreme and these tips can help you maintain your vehicle and get your car, truck, or SUV ready for the summer ahead.
TIP #1: TIRE PRESSURE
As air temperatures get warmer in spring, tire pressure can increase affecting your vehicle's drivability and fuel economy. It's important to check the pressure of all tires, including the spare, and maintain the optimal pressure recommended in your owner's manual.
TIP #2: WIPER BLADES
Check your wiper blades for any signs of cracking or wear. In Colorado you'll need those wipers for spring rains so be sure they are in good working order.
TIP #3: CHECK YOUR FILTERS
Your car has a number of filters that are important to its longevity and should be replaced regularly. Check your engine air filter, your cabin air filter, and your fuel filter for damage or clogging and replace them if necessary.
TIP #4: FLUID LEVELS
It's important to check fluid levels, including engine coolant and washer fluid. If these are low, it could alert you that maintenance is needed or a potential problem, like a leak.
TIP #5: BRAKES
Driving on worn brake pads decreases your stopping power and can damage your rotors.
